Hi,

My parents will be visiting me shortly. My father is 56 yrs old & mother 50yrs old. My father has certain liver related illness which he was having for last 8 -10 years. Will the medical insurance bought in USA cover any medical needs (God forbid) arising out of it...

If your father is still having lever problem currently, that would be considered as pre-exisiting condition and will not be covered.

If your father had liver problem 8-10 years ago, if he does not have any problem and if he is not taking any medication regarding it right now or in last 3 years, we have some plans that may cover it as it may not be considered as pre-existing condition.

There is no such insurance plan, either in USA or in India, that would provide coverage for pre-existing conditions.
