I have read the FAQs but I still have 2 quick questions: 1. if a person has high blood pressure, which is under regular control with medication, and while vising USA gets a heart attack. Is that considered related to the high BP? Do you have a list of conditions that will not be covered for any person with a history of high BP? 2. if a person has diabetes, and gets a cut in the hand in the USA which develops infection. Will that be covered by insurance or is that considered pre-existing? thanks,

thank you.
As mentioned in my email, I have already read the FAQs on pre-existing conditions, but did not see an answer to my specific questions. Thats why I asked them in the email:
1. if a person has high blood pressure, which is under regular control with medication, and while vising USA gets a heart attack. Is that considered related to the high BP? Do you have a list of conditions that will not be covered for any person with a history of high BP?
2. if a person has diabetes, and gets a cut in the hand in the USA which develops infection. Will that be covered by insurance or is that considered pre-existing?

1.
There is no automatic exclusion or inclusion like that.
Based on the attending physician statement, and all medical records, it will be determined by the claims department whether it is related to pre-existing condition or not. If so, it will be covered. Otherwise, it will not be covered.
No, there is no list of conditions.
2.
Finger cut itself would be new condition and not caused because of diabetes and therefore would be covered as long as it occurs after the effective date of the policy.
If it is determined that something is happening because of diabetes, it may not be covered. Again, that would be determined based on the medical records.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks & Regards

thank you, Mr Khatri.
The reason I asked this is because practically ANY emergency condition can be related to BP or diabetes, depending on which physician you talk to and which medical literature you look at. The only conditions that may not be linked are probably cold and allergies and flu etc, but anything major can always be linked to BP or diabetes.
I understand that you decide on a case by case basis. However, it would be helpful to know if you can provide any aggregate data on what coverage payments have been made in the past few years versus how many claims were denied coverage.
