This message is for Mr Khatri, Hello, I need assistance in purchasing the insurance for my mother travelling to US. I am more inclined towards Atlast America after reviewing few insurance companies and plans. I am related to medical field so have few confusions and hope u can help me in understanding these. The Word pre-existing medical condition: If a patient with diabetes suffers a heart attack. We all know if people have diabetes then its predisposes to every medical problem including heart attack, stroke etc but these are indirectly linked and not directly contributing. Will the insurance company takes this as pre-existing ? Whats ur opinion regarding Atlast america. My mom is 62 with diabtes and hypertension.

Dear Mr. Ali,
Thank you for your interest in purchasing the insurance.
Given a hypothetical scenario, it is not possible to tell in advance whether it would be covered or not. It all depends upon the attending physician statement and medical records whether it was because of pre-existing conditions or not. Just because the person has diabetes or blood pressure, heart attack is not automatically excluded. On the other hand, if the person never had an heart attack, heart attack is not automatically included either. It all depends upon individual case.
