Need to consult diabetes doctor during US visit

I am under visitor visa in US and would stay here 3 weeks more . I am Diabetic patient and as per Doctor advice I am supposed to consult Diabetologist/Physician for my problem. Can I take temporary health care insurance for my check up ? If possible please guide me .
