Atlas or Patriot

I am planning to by the visitor's medical insurance for my mother-in-law.
I have decided upon taking one from Patriot Or Atlas. I saw that Atlas uses Hygiea PPO and Patriot uses First Health PPO. From different discussions I came to know that Hygeia is lesser known among the doctors.

My question is in case I appraoch a doctor who has not heard of Hygeia, how the payment method works ? Do I need to pay the doctor upfront and then claim it from Atlas ? Or wiil the doctor's office going to get the payment directly from ATlas even if they do not recognize Hygeia.

The only reason I am considering Atlas is because of the limited pre-existing condition coverage.

If you go in the network AND if they bill directly, Atlas pay 100% up to policy maximum after the deductible. Otherwise, it will pay 80% for first $5,000 and then 100% up to policy maximum.

Your sentence "Or wiil the doctor's office going to get the payment directly from ATlas even if they do not recognize Hygeia." does not make any sense.

Atlas America Insurance currently participates in multiple PPO networks such as First Health, PHCS, CMN etc.
