Hi there, With the $15,000 coverage for pre existing conditions. I am 26 and get atrial fibrilation once every 4 years. I just had it recently so I'm not expected to get it again for a few years If I did get it - what does the $15,000 cover?

There is $15,000 maximum for coverage of an Acute Onset of a Pre-Existing Condition in Atlas America. An acute onset of a pre-existing conditiong is a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre-existing Condition which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning, either in the form of Physician recommendation or symptoms which would have caused a prudent person to seek medical attention prior to the outbreak or recurrence. Treatment must be obtained within 24 hours of the sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence for it to be covered by this benefit if all other provisions are met.
Any Illness, Injury or Mental Health Disorder, including chronic or recurring Illnesses, which existed at or during the 2 years immediately preceding the Certificate Effective Date. Pre-existing Condition also includes any chronic, subsequent or recurring complications or consequences associated with these conditions.
Because this is scheduled for every four years it would not fall under the acute onset, and it is an ongoing condition so no claims associated with atrial fibrillation would be covered at any time. Thanks & Regards
