Visitors insurance for my mother

Hello, I am planning to purchase visitors insurance for my mother who is 61 yrs old and has already arrived in the US (10 days back). My choice is to purchase comprehensive coverage. However I am not able to decide between a 500k and 1mil coverage limit. My mother has problems like cholestorol, arthritis, thyroid. No BP or diabetes. No heart problems. My intent is to cover against accidents, injury, any surgical procedure and assoicated room/board and nursing costs. With this info in hand, which insurance plan / company would you recommend. I know this might not be the most complete info to make a choice, but I'm hoping you can make a just suggestion. Also, are these plans accepted all over the US? My mom needs to travel between NY and CA and maybe some neighbouring cities. Appreciate your help.

No, $500,000 is not too much coverage. Your costs may run up to that amount in case of any serious accident, or even a major sickness.
