I am planning to buy either Atlas or Patriot America insurance for my mother aged 55yrs who will be visiting US for 2 months. Between both these insurances, can you explain the difference between the Emergency room coverage in case inpatient hospitalization is not required?

Atlas vs Patriot--Emergency Room visit

When you go to an emergency room, there are two types of charges: treatment charge and room charge.
If you go to an emergency room for an accident, that is fine.
If you go to an emergency room for a sickness for which you are admitted into the hospital, that is fine too.
The question is about when you go to an emergency room for a sickness for which you are not admitted.
1. Patriot America: Extra $250 deductible per visit
2. Atlas America: Treatment charge is covered (as long as it is an eligible expense) but the room charge is not covered.
Practically, both of the rules would turn out to be more or less the same in most cases.
