Medical Insurance for employed self sponsered Visa

Hi, I am applying for B2 Visitor Visa. I am currently employed in India in a reputed IT firm as a Business Analyst for the past 5 years. The company has agreed and approved my leave to visit the US. I have sufficient funds to sponser my trip and hence I have decided to apply for a Self sponsered Visa. The question is, do I need to explicity apply for any medical insurance. My employer already takes care of my medical insurance and has a coverage upto 5 lakhs in case of emergency.
