Getting There:
Indian Consulate is located at the intersection of Geary and Arguello. The Consulate does not have any parking facilities. You can park your car at a public or metered parking.
For security reasons, personal belongings such as laptops, cellphones, backpacks, briefcases and other such items, ladies handbags, baby strollers, plastic carry bags, food or drink etc., are not allowed inside the Consulate premises. The Consulate does not have any facility to store these items either. If you bring any of these items with you, you will have to leave them outside at your own risk.

Many people experience that when they try calling the consulate, either the phone call does not go through or no one picks up the hpone. The Consulate receives a high number of phone calls every day. Therefore, whenever possible, it is best to send an email to them. Consulate endeavors to answer all emails within 24 hours.
Warning:
Some agents are claiming to have been appointed by the Consulate General of India and are misleading the public by claiming so. With the exception of CKGS for Passport, OCI, PIO, Visa and Renunciation, no other agents have been appointed by the Consulate and that the Consulate deals with members of the public directly.
Consular Camps:
Some Indian Consulates conduct camps at various locations where the persons can go and get their needs taken care of such as passport, visa etc. However, the Indian Consulate in San Francisco does not organize any such camps anywhere.
