Sub: Invitation to visit the USA
Dear Mother and Father,
I would like to invite both of you to the United States of America to stay with me for six months. It would be very nice to have you with me. During your stay, we would visit various tourist places in the USA, such as New York, Washington D.C., Niagara Falls, Las Vegas, Disney Land, and Florida.
During your stay in the United States, I will bear all your responsibilities including, but not limited to, financial responsibilities, return air ticket fare to travel from INDIA to the USA and back, travel expenses within the USA, medical insurance, housing, and food. You will stay with me in my apartment located at the above-mentioned address.
During your stay here, you will also get an opportunity to see and experience the western culture, meet different kinds of people, and eat a variety of food. You will also enjoy the nice weather and the nice city I live in.
We would have a nice time together after a long time. So, please begin planning for the trip. I am eagerly waiting for you to visit me.
Yours lovingly,
Rahul Gupta
Note:
Important information about sample documents
6. Travel and Additional Supporting Documents
- Tentative travel itinerary (optional)
- Contact details of people you plan to visit
- Invitation letters (for events or family visits)
Visitor Medical Insurance
Visitor medical insurance is not required to obtain a U.S. tourist visa, and consular officers typically do not request it during the interview.
If you need it or want personal safety, you can purchase insurance from providers such as Insubuy.
Although optional, it is strongly recommended because healthcare costs in the U.S. are very high.
Important Notes
- Do not purchase insurance solely for visa purposes.
- You may buy insurance after visa approval, before traveling.
7. Cover Letter (Recommended)
A concise cover letter (1 page) should include:
- Purpose of travel
- Duration and itinerary
- Funding details
- Strong reasons to return (e.g., employment, family, assets)
8. Interview: The Deciding Factor
The visa interview is the most critical step.
Officers Evaluate
- Confidence and clarity
- Consistency of answers
- Financial and social stability
- Genuine intent to return
