EU citizen applying for B2 Visitor Visa
Hi everyone,

Helping my dad to get visitor visa (B2) completed instead of ESTA due to longer planned duration of the stay.

DS-160 completed, MRV fee paid now it's just to schedule interview. Main question that I have is: How does appointment date affect visa issuance date? His plan is to come to US in mid-November but appointments are available from mid August onwards. He would like his visa to be valid/start from mid-November. Should he wait for later appointments closer to his travel date or can officer assign later issue date on the visa if he goes for interview earlier (let's say start of September)? In DS-160 planned departure was indicated as mid-November and he can also repeat that to the officer at the embassy.

Thank you in advance

What documents to submit for B2 Visa during OFC/Consular interview?
Hi,
my daughter aged 22 is now scheduled to appear for OFC & VAC interviews in October 2022. can some one advise me on the list of documents she need to carry and expected questions...since she is studying her MBA in india she can inform them that she won't stay for long in USA but would come down after a short visit so that she can continue her studies...when applied she has joined a full time regular college hence she is having a bonafide certificate from the college mentioning her studies and it would be valid till end of 2023. but recently she has come out of that college and joined her MBA in a distance education... should we present the earlier bonafide certificate? confused here and need some expertise advise. we all are here in US and she was not under dependent visa due to her >21 yrs age limit. so we would like to invite her for a short visit but has no intention for a long period.

Visa "Refused"
Hello.
My father had his interview for visitor visa in April 2022. He was told the his visa was approved and his passport was taken by the consular officer. His visa status on CEAC was updated as 'Approved'. However, after a few days, the status changed to "Refused" and has was asked to submit some additional questionnaire response. The response was submitted within a week and he received an automated email that confirmed that his response was accepted by the consulate and he has nothing further to do. The next day, his passport was returned with a written document that states that the embassy will ask to re-submit his passport on a later date.
Since then we have been waiting to get a notice from the embassy and there still has been none. The visa status still shows "Refused", last updated in April.
Any idea on how long it might take to hear back from the embassy and will he possibly get the visa?
Thanks in advance for any help.

B2 visa for my brother
Hi, I want to invite my brother to visit me to USA for my baby shower and travel around in USA. He is 40 years and unmarried. Does not have job as he lost his job in covid had some instability in carrier. He does part time business with my dad but does not have anything on paper as his name is not listed on company. He has B2 visa denied 6 years ago while he was student in Canada and F1 visa denied around 20 years ago when he tried for graduation from USA. Both my parents have B1/B2 visa and have never overstayed in last 9 years. What are the chances my brother can get visa if applied and mentioned he would be traveling with my parents for a month? He genuinely does not have plans to overstay illegally here but at the same time wont be able to prove strong ties back to home country. Can my dad generate salary slips on his company's name and show him as employee in his business?
