OCI for family at Houston VFS
Feb 16 - went to Houston VFS office and submitted application for all four
Feb 20 -VFS status- Application reviewed and sent to Indian Embassy
Feb 21 - OCI website - acknowledged and under process
Mar 13 - OCI website - approved and printed
Mar 14 - VFS status - card received and will be mailed out soon
Mar 15 - Received all OCI cards
Total time - 28 days
I started preparing and doing the paperwork and process in first week of Feb.
Lots of paper work, and, it is time consuming( for four ppl especially). Also, it is an expensive process.
But once you line up the ducks, it becomes easy to go through the process.
Review and re-review the government form. Any minor mistakes and the form is rejected by VFS. Go through the checklist of documents in VFS site. Some aspects are abstract or confusing. Mail and ask them for clarification based on your situation.
I received all SMS and email alerts on time!
