OCI Spouse of Foreign Origin - Timeline SFO
Hi,
Here is my timeline so far for SFO. I am a spouse of an OCI holder.
Documents submitted: 25-JUL-2023
Acknowledgement: 29-JUL-2023
Documents Under Process: Mid August
At some point the documents were sent to the Mission but I didn't receive a notification that the Mission got them. Both the government and VFS Global pages showed "Under-Process" and that the documents were in the Embassy/Consulate for processing.
Reached Out to VFS Global for Updates: Jan 3
After 5 months without news I reached out to VFS Global. They asked me to reach out to the consulate.
Reached out to Consulate SFO: Jan 15
I sent an email because my OCI was past 50 working days. The consulate webpage says to only reach out if that time has passed.
Online Interview Scheduled: Jan 24
They replied to the email I sent the same day (Jan 15) and they scheduled the interview for Jan 24.
After the interview they informed me that it will take up to 30 days to get the OCI card. The status in the website has not changed yet. I will post any additional updates once I know more.
