Parents Got VISA - 2nd attempt

Hello All,

First of all thanks to this forum and site. It was very helpful.
My parents had VISA appointment on June 29th and got their Visa. We do not know how long it is. They were rejected VISA first time in Jan 2006.

Background,

Both me(Green Card) and my sister(H1) are in USA.
My father is a government employee and mother is a house wife.

Questions asked

1)How many children do you have?
Ans) 2 daughters

2)Where are they?
Ans)Both are in USA

3)What do you do?
Ans)Working for central govt as xxxx

4)How long have you been working?
Ans)XX yrs

5)How many more years of service do you have?
Ans) x yrs

6)Do your daughters send you money?
Ans)No, I get Rs xxxx salry monthly

7)How much property do you have?

8)Do you have residence in India?

9)How long do you want to stay?
Ans)2 months

10)When do you want to go?


And the officer said, congratulations , you are granted visa, please go and pay fees.

Do you know what was the reason for rejetion on the first attempt? and after how long you had re-applied?

Hello RK,

My parents were rejected last time under 214(b) because both me and my sister are in US. Last time, CO did not take time to look at my father's job details. This time they did. Their VISA was rejected on Jan 23 and we took online appointment on Feb 5th.

According to my parents most of the people who attended the interview on July 29 got the VISA.

Hi,
Did you check the delivery status of your parents passport in the VFS website. Does it say, its not been handed over to VFS. My mom had interview on the same day and was granted visa. When I checked for delivery status, it says it has not been handed over to VFS. Please respond..

Hi Vidven,

Yes it says the samething even for my Parents passports. I tried calling the helpline but they are closed during weekends. So , I will wait till Monday morning (India time) and call again.
