Telugu visa date preponed to Dec, 06 from feb 07

Hi all

There were many telugu dates available last night around 10pm of Pacific time and i rescheduled my parents appointment. It is very easy and no need to cancel the existing one. If you have questions, please let me know

Good to know that, looks like they changed their system.
Their FAQ section says "cannot"

Hi,
The website says as "Rescheduling option does not allow you to prepone your interview appointment unless rescheduling to a priority appointment. If you wish to schedule to an earlier date you will have to cancel the existing appointment and schedule a new appointment after reentering all the information again"

With the above info i thought if i prepone its might be a priority one. Because of this reason i canceled and book it again in Dec 06.

It seems they appointed additional visa officers in chennai.

I am not sure about the website rules. You might be right. But i did prepone yesterday, using the reschedule link on the same website.
when i tried to reschedule the appointment, it asked me to enter all my father details, then it gave two options. One is if you want make an emergency appointment click here or else continue. So i went to continue button, and whole dec 6 dates were available. i chose one. got the interview letter and check clearly nothing mentioned whether it is priority appointment or not.

confirmed with VFS guys

I contacted vfs people yesterday regarding my parents appointment. It seems, everything is OK. I made the normal appointment only.

Now i can say, we can prepone the appointment without cancelling the appointment.

Its good to know. It seems we can simply ignore that warning message and go ahead and do the prepone ONCE without cancelling.

But when i did prepone, i did not see any warning message, it only say
" if you want to make an emergency appointment click here or continue"

i followed the link continue and got dates and booked one.

Did you first check on availability then followed the path to 'Reschedule/Cancel' link from their web site.

What I am worried is,if I just follow Reschedule path will it automatically show me if they are only prepone dates? otherwise I am worried if dates are available after my current appt date and if I am forced to book that as a reschedule then i am screwed.

I really appreciate your feedback.. basically confusion is reschedule could for prepone as well as postpone.. just wanted to make sure so that i don't get into postpone trap from this URL.

Yes, i did check the available dates. I saw most dec, 06 dates were open on 26th Sep, around 10 pm pacific time. Then i went to 'Reschedule/Cancel' link and then asked me Bep user id, i said no for that, and it took me to next page explaining the rules to reschedule/cancel appointment. Frankly i did not read these rules, because i just want to get one of Dec dates. In the same page, I followed the continue link, then in the next page, website asked me to enter all the details of my father. After this i followed the Rechdule appointment link, then it took me to the next page asking

"do you want to make an emergeny appointment click here or continue below"

I followed the link continued and saw whole dec 06 dates were available. Selected one. After this, printed interview letters of my parents, and date mentioned very clearly.
I posted same in this website next day, but one post said, i might have got the priority appointment (or emergency appointment). So i sent an email to VFS people with all my parents details. Next day got email from them and they said, it is normal one. If you still want to see the VFS email let me know.

I dont think so, if you dont select the date, it wont automatically reschedule your date

I got it preponed to Nov 30th.

Thanks a lot for your information. I managed to get it preponed to Nov 30th from Feb 7th. I had to struggle to do this but anyone interested in this is what I had to do.

- First tried from VFS home page on the availability. It showed 6 to 7 days available in Nov-06 for Telugu.

- Then I tried "Reschedule/Cancel" link but after doing every thing here it was only shownig me Feb-07 availablity. I tried many times but nothing showed before Feb-07.

- Then I took risk and cancelled existing appointment and did all over again from New application or whatever and filled the form all and then it showed Nov06 availablity for 3 days.

God knows to whom VFS out sourced the web site but man they are so many issues so far I had and always I had to find my own way to do work around.
Such a pain in the neck.

But what suprised me is that I haven't got any confirmation email yet for new interview date.. but when I checked via the old link they sent me for the Feb appt then I see that Interview is scheduled for Nov 30th so and so time.

Is there any way we can just confirm the interview date from VFS web site without getting into Reschedule, cancel business?

I will confirm this again with VFS via email if I don't receive confirmation by tomorrow..

I did not receive any email. But i went back to the website and tried the "To Download details of a confirmed appointmen link". You can ask to send the all the confirmed appointment forms to your email

I am not sure, why the website not showing the dates.

You can send an email. Just go back to your old confirmation email and try to follow the link. it should take to the vfs website and you should able to see the updated information
