Second Interview after I-601 approval. Horrible interview.
I was scheduled for second interview at Atlanta FO after my I-601 was approved. It was a bad one as the officer was saying he did not believe me that the company I work for is legit. Mine is Emplyoment Based. He said he would send an RFE if he has any more questions since I had a very big file and he will need to study my case. But at the end he did mention that my medical was expired and when I asked him if I need to redo my medical, he said to wait for RFE as he did not want me to waste money for me and my spouse on medical if my case gets denied. But the strange thing is my status changed to RFE the very next day and the the only RFE I received in mail was for new medical. So don't know if he was just trying scare me or what. But my wife did see at the interview as she was sitting beside me, that the officer did scan some documents that had mentioned approved before turning his computer off. So lets see what happens. Have submitted my medical. Anyone experienced something like this.

AOS for Mom
Hello
I applied AOS in June 2023 for my mom who travelled on visitor visa (B1/B2) to US in Feb. 2023. I applied concurrent filling
I-130 (petition from US citizen)
I-485
I-131 AP travel document
I got RFE on I-485 on Oct 20 and sent the response on Oct 26, 2023. No update so far on any three of them.
Mom's Indian passport is expiring in early April 2024, In that case what are my options?
1. Can she extend her Indian passport in US while on visitor visa (pending GC petition)?
2. if not then she probably has to travel by March 2024 end to India to get it renewed, will that abandoned her GC application?

I was really hoping to have travel document AP approved for her to make travel but NO update on it as well. Just getting stressed at this point.
Any information in this case is highly appreciated. Thank you

I-693 - Submit a new Form I-693 completed by a designated civil surgeon
Hello
I received a letter - RFE stating that my dr. is not on designated. The Dr who filed the 693 is designated civil surgeon and I can still see it on USCIS website. I tried to find a number to call but I couldn't. Any help is appreciated.

Here is an extract from the letter:
Submit a new Form I-693 completed by a designated civil surgeon. A review of your file indicates
that you submitted a Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record (Form
I-693) completed by a doctor who is not on the designated civil surgeon list.

AOS parent of naturalized US citizen
I just wanted to come on here and share my experience so far in Oregon. My parents and siblings came to the US without status over 20 yrs ago. My mom's US citizen brother submitted a petition for her in 2000 under 245i. I married a us citizen and later became a us citizen myself and petitioned both my parents

AOS submitted for both end of Nov 2022.
Received EAD dad 7/7/23 mom 8/28/23

Today my dad had his interview and everything went pretty smoothly. The officer was very nice and even made jokes throughout the interview. Although she didn't necessarily approve him on the spot , things look promising and she said she was going to review a few things and let us know if she needs anything. If nothing is needed, she would be able to approve. Now we wait!!!

My mom's interview was scheduled for 11/14 but earlier this week it was cancelled due to unforseen circumstances. No real explanation but we'll see what happens next

I'm just glad my dad's interview is out of the way and I'm confident he will be approved!!!

Best of luck to all!

*I forgot to mention - one of the worries with their cases is that they would be deemed inadmissable for alien smuggling since they brought us here with them as children illegally. Fortunately, the officer did not bring this up AT ALL!! of course we still have to wait for approval but I'm hopeful that it's not going to hinder the process because she would have brought up and request 601 waiver and she didn't!!!

*****UPDATE!!!**** he was APPROVED!! status changed for the i485 approved as of 10/20/23. His greencard should arrive in a couple weeks!!

Total processing time was 11 months from the day we mailed the application to approval.

My mom's status was also updated today and her interview is 11/28!!
