Timeline: 12 Jan 2022 : Visa interview - VO asked for client letter which I didn't have so visa officer gave 221g yellow slip and asked me to submit listed docs. 2 April 2022 : Submitted requested docs to [email protected] with email size less than 5 MB but DIDN'T receive confirmation email from US Consulate Mumbai office 13 May 2022 : As I did not receive any confirmation from consulate I resubmitted requested docs to [email protected] with email size less than 5 MB and I DID receive confirmation email from US Consulate Mumbai office 1 Sept 2022: Received email from "[email protected]" requesting to submit passport, copy of your I-797, and 221(g) letter. 2 Sept 2022: Submitted passport, copy of your I-797, and 221(g) letter. 7 Sept 2022: Status changed to "Approved"

I had my interview on May 26th and was handed a white slip to fill ds-5535 and send extra documents Never received the ds-5535 till today Sent required documents on june 6th Ceac website shows refused. August 18th embassy contacted me to send the passport ( but didn’t indicate the reason) August 25th case is still refused and last update date is the interview date 09/06/2022 approved on ceac 09/07/2022 issued on ceac Good luck to everyone

My spouse had H4 Drop box appointment on 18th Feb 2022 at Mumbai VAC. Received 221g on 8th March 2022 with passport; was asked to schedule a 221g interview. Attended 221g interview on 25th March 2022. After the interview she was sent the DS 5535 form via email. Submitted the filled form on 28th March 2022 to [email protected]. Whenever we reach out to Mumbai Consulate's support team, we get a standard reply that her case is under process and they cannot give us any timeline. It's been more than 6 and 1/2 months from the date she had her Drop Box appointment but haven't heard back from the consulate yet on the status. My approved I797A for which she had applied for visa stamping since 18th Feb 2022 was valid until Aug 2022. Now, I have received new I797A with validity until Aug 2025. Does anyone know how can she submit the new I797A to the Mumbai Consulate for her ongoing case? Does anyone have similar experience?

- Dropbox Appointment - 5 April, 2022 , Submitted documents at Pune location. - Passport Received back with 221G - 14 April, 2022. Asking to schedule appointment for in person interview. - Inperson interview - 26 April, Mumbai . Asked for passport, I797, Client Letter. Interviewer asked about my Job Duties and all. Then Asked about my visa status changes - H1B then H4 and Then again H1b. Gave me yellow slip, asked my petitioner to submit the documents- - Docuements submitted - 6th May, 2022 via Email CEAC tracker Status - Refused, Case Created 06 April,2022 Case Last Updated 26th April, 2022 Case Last Updated 22nd Aug, 2022 Case Last Updated 29th Aug, 2022, status changed to approved. Finally got an email 25th Aug 2022 to submit passport. I have submitted the passport, I797 copy, Employment verification letter, Copy of email on next day 26th Aug 2022.

Had interview on 20th July, first the VO asked few basic questions then asked to wait in lobby and then an Indian lady again asked similar questions took my place of employment page in LCA and gave 221g without ticking anything in it. Then on August 1st my employer received an email with 5 basic questions from visa support services. when contacted that visa support services they confirmed that information was passed to Hyderabad embassy on 4th August. From then no update on the case.

Had my first H1B & H4 interview in Karachi on 01/03/22. CO asked the usual questions and gave blue slip requesting prior travel & employment history. No updates on CEAC website since interview date 01/03/22: Interview + documents requested in email and replied to 01/31/22: Emailed embassy who responded that case is still under Admin Processing and no updates 06/01/22: Filed Mandamus lawsuit 07/14/22: Email to pick up passport received My recommendation: if it's been more than 60 days since you've been into AP, it is definitely worth getting a consultation with a lawyer and I discuss whether Mandamus will help get your case unstuck. 06/24 : Appeared for interview at Mumbai consulate, returned passport and given yellow slip ticketed everything (I797, I129, LCA, employment letter, end client letter, letter from the middle layer company, detailed of the roles & responsibilities etc.) 07/16 : Submitted documents the US consulate - Mumbai to the provided e-email in the yellow slip. 08/21 : Still status showing refused.

It took 3.5 months for me. I reached out to the congress person and senator in my area, but I am not sure how much that helped. I sent in my passport and currently waiting for them to stamp it. Good luck everyone!

Parents had IR5 visa interview on Mar 2, 2022 in Mumbai. VC congratulated them and gave them approval documentation and passports were kept. Passports were returned on Mar 4 with letter stating 221g admin processing and no documents asked for. Letter mentioned they will email us if anything is needed. As of 03/30, CEAC still shows REFUSED. Last updated 03/03 (a day after the interview). Anyone with similar situation around similar dates out of Mumbai? Received call from Consulate last week that the admin processing has been cleared but the “medical” has expired so need to redo medical for the passport to be stamped. Awaiting re-medical. Finally a glimmer of hope after more than 6 months.
