On Sep 18, 2023 file has been received until
      Sep 27, 2023 it was on hold due to requirement of some additional documents after that
      Sep Oct 06, 2023 application under review
Since then no update. I called them so many times and emailed them too but no response.

Sharing my story for passport renewal such that its useful to someone else

- On 10/5/23 Application sent for VFS through UPS from Florida
- 10/6/23 application received at VFS
- 10/6/23 application send to Consulate for review
- 10/9/23 application under review
- 10/9/23 Print has been initiated
- 10/10/23 Passport is printed and will be delivered shortly
- 10/11/23 Passport has been handed over by the Embassy to the OSP for further dispatch
- 10/11/23 UPS shipping tracking information is emailed
-10/11/23 received Police verification email
-10/12/23 Received old and new passports.

I am applying to renew my passport at VFS San Francisco. I am stuck at address validation step and every time it's getting error
 "Either your address was not validated successfully by FEDEX or your address validation is not applicable for your location. If you proceed then we will consider it as your consent to send address correction invoices for additional charges incurred by VFS Global. Click Ok to proceed, Cancel to go back and select Pre-paid label instead"

Even after clicking OK submit is not active. Has anyone experienced the same issue? VFS complaint form didn't help.

I sent the documents to SFO to renew my Indian passport. I got the update from them saying that the exposure is not good in the photo.
Do I have to just send the photos to them, or I have to do the original thing one more time? (One passport size photo in application form and another one in affidavit for appearance has changed with notary'?

Aug 31 : We have "Received" your Application however we are unable to proceed with the application due to the following reasons:
                     Ineligible/Rejection Reason : Application received is for Reissue of Passport- apply for Lost/damaged passport – Passport binding damaged
                 
Aug 29 : Sent application (Tatkal - Renewal) to VFS

1. Sent the application by selecting Renewal only (if your address changes select the right option from the passport application; otherwise VFS rejects the application)
2. Changed the application with address change appearance change.
3. Got rejected for a photo as it was not a clear white background (it was taken 2x2 per US standard passport).
4. VFS sent the link to use digital photo and I have taken picture with my SLR camera with a clear background and adjusted the size 2x2.
5. The application was received by VFS and dispatched to the NYC consulate.
6. Your application has reached the Embassy/Consulate and is currently under review process
7. Sent the police verification
8. Police came to Indian address
9 Its been 5 days and no change in updates

I applied for renewal of my Indian passport on 21-07-2023 at Dubai Sharjah the new passport was delivered on 11-08-2023.

The status of my application as below :

21-07-23 Passport application form has been submitted.
30-07-23 Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate.
05-08-23 Print has been initiated for passport.
09-08-23 Your passport has been printed and being forwarded to Embassy/Consulate. The Embassy/Consulate will contact you once they receive the passport for dispatch
11-08-23 Your passport has been dispatched.

I applied for renewal of my Indian passport on 4th Aug 2023 at UAE-RAK BLS Center and the new passport was delivered on 7th Aug 2023, which is just two working days considering the week end in between.

Indian passport renewal in UAE is very fast and convenient. I appreciate the high speed service by Foreign Ministry of India.

Hi all,

I reside in Maryland, and my passport is set to expire in January 2024. I have been collecting all the necessary documents and stumbled upon the "Police verification" procedure, which has raised some concerns. To provide some context, when I last renewed my passport in 2014, this was not a requirement, and I had simply provided my US residence. My family primarily resides in the United States, and nobody currently lives at our Indian address in Telangana.

I am uncertain about which address to provide on my Indian passport application. If I provide my current Indian address, what would happen if the police visit the address and find it vacant? Would it be possible to provide my friend's address in Bangalore, which is located in a different state? Moreover, what documents should I provide my friend to prepare for the police verification process?

Any help would be appreciated.
